Summary

Amends the

Australian Citizenship Act 2007
to enable certain family members of current and future overseas lateral recruits (technical specialists with previous experience in other defence forces) to the Australian Defence Force (ADF) to satisfy the relevant defence service residence requirement and be eligible for conferral of Australian citizenship at the same time as the enlisted ADF member.

We acknowledge the traditional owners and custodians of country throughout Australia and acknowledge their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We pay our respects to the people, the cultures and the elders past, present and emerging.
